Acadia Winter Festival: Snow Journaling with Karen Zimmermann

February 5, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Part of Schoodic Institute’s 2022 Acadia Winter Festival
Karen Zimmermann leads this workshop on at the winter landscape and the textures, shapes, and subjects it offers for journaling.  Toned paper and pencils will be provided, and everyone will have the opportunity to play with the effects this medium offers.  Shadows and highlights become the focus rather than a sometimes overwhelming range of color.  Lettering, combining drawing and text, and basic journaling will be discussed.
This workshop is for anyone new to journaling – no experience is necessary, just an interest in nature and being creative in the winter months.  Be prepared for a short walk for inspiration, and a serene afternoon observing and recording the beauty of winter.  Meet in the Breakout Rooms at Moore Auditorium.  Cost is $10.00 per participant.
Karen O. Zimmermann is a graphic designer, Maine Master Naturalist, and author of “Nightwalk, Using all your senses to explore the Natural World”.  She lives in Otter Creek, journals regularly, and loves winter.
