Due to COVID-19 this event has been CANCELLED and may not be rescheduled in 2020.  Please continue to check our website calendar as we reschedule some of these important events.

Don’t put your camera away just because the sun has set. With today’s digital cameras, taking photographs at night is easier than ever and a lot of fun.

Come join our Capture the Night Workshop where we examine Astro-Landscape Photography, Night Photography and Light Painting. This workshop is for the amateur to the professional photographer. If you wish to learn how to successfully capture night images, have the required equipment and understand what the requirements refer to (see Requirements below), then this is the four hour workshop for you. Depending on the weather, the group will gather near the coast at the Schoodic Institute in Acadia National Park and photograph the Milky Way galactic span over the Atlantic Ocean where we have the darkest skies along the U.S. east coast. We will explore light painting and discuss various techniques for achieving powerful night images.

For 2020, there will be five separate workshops to choose from which will run from 8:00 PM until midnight:

July: Saturday the 18th, 8:00PM – Midnight

August: Saturday the 15th, 7:00PM – 11:00PM

September: Thursday the 18th, Friday the 19th, and Saturday the 20th, 6:00PM – 10:00PM

A rain night is scheduled for the first Sunday after the workshop in case the outside portion of the workshop gets rained out (7/19 9:00 PM – Midnight, 8/16, 9:00 PM – Midnight, and 9/20, 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM).

Also, inquire about lodging at the Schoodic Institute campus with Megan Moshier at (207) 288-1337.

Price: $75
