Forest Therapy Walk
February 7 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Come explore an introduction to the practice of Shrinrin-Yoku, or “Forest Bathing,” with certified ANFT Forest Therapy Guide Sandy Fortin of Energy Elements.
Learn a simple practice of “Sit Spot,” guided sensory immersion invitations and other tips to help reconnect with nature and experience the healing benefits in the process. Learn how to turn up your senses through guided “pleasures of being present” and let stress melt away.
Dress warm, and wear footwear appropriate for winter trail walking. Hand and foot warmers are encouraged. Be prepared to be outdoors for up to two hours with limited activity and slow movements. This is a mindfulness practice in being present, not a “hike.”
Appropriate for ages 8 and up; youth must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited and registration is required; part of the Acadia Winter Festival.
