Hosted by Schoodic Institute and the National Park Service, the Acadia National Park Science Symposium provides a forum to learn about science taking place in the region and to interact and build collaborations with scientists, educators, students, park staff, and others working in a range of fields. On October 22nd, attend in person at Moore Auditorium on Schoodic Institute’s campus to enjoy speaker sessions, networking opportunities, poster sessions, morning coffee and pastries, and a full lunch (included in your registration!). If you are not able to join us in-person at Schoodic Institute, a virtual option is also available.

Learn from and network with a variety of science professionals working in Acadia and beyond.

This year’s theme is Protecting the Present, Fostering Future Acadia.

THURSDAY, 10/22: All-Day Science Symposium (ticketed)*

A full day of symposium events, including speaker sessions, networking opportunities, poster sessions, and lunch (included in your registration) that will take place in-person at Schoodic Institute's Moore Auditorium and online via Zoom from 9:00am - 3:30pm on Thursday, October 22. Morning coffee and pastries will also be provided. If you plan to join virtually for the livestream please indicate below and the Zoom link will be emailed to you ahead of the event. Registration costs are $75 in-person ($25 with student discount) or $10 virtual attendance. More information will be available on the next page. Registration Details

In-Person Registration*

The registration fee for in-person attendance is $75, or $25 for students. Morning coffee, pastries, and a full lunch with dessert are included in your registration fee, as well as the opportunity to present a research poster. Please note, group registration is not available.

Livestream Registration*

The registration fee for virtual attendance is $10. Included in the registration fee is all-day access to streamed presentations and the ability to participate in Q&A via Zoom chat.

Participants are invited to present posters describing their research. We welcome and encourage posters from a wide range of disciplines, including natural sciences, social sciences, and the arts and humanities. Please note that the title, authors, and abstract must be submitted via email to Emma Albee at ealbee@schoodicinstitute.org by October 7, 2026. Additional poster requirements will be emailed to you after registration.

Do you have any dietary restrictions/allergies we need to be aware of?

We are able to confidently accommodate special diets for those requiring gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegetarian meals. We have ideas for those with other dietary restrictions or food allergies, however, for your safety, and because we do not have a licensed dietitian on staff, we have had to limit the special meals to the three listed above. Premade, retail meals will be available at an additional cost, but must be requested and paid for in advance of your visit. To make this request, please email mmoshier@schoodicinstitute.org. If you have a restricted diet other than vegetarian, gluten-free, or dairy-free, we recommend you bring food with you to supplement your meal(s). All of our lodging includes the option for refrigeration.

Lodging Reservation Cancellation Policy*

Schoodic Institute understands how disappointing it can be for our guests who need to cancel their trip. If you cancel your reservation up to 2 weeks prior to arrival, you will get your money back, less a $50 per room processing fee. If you cancel within 14 days of arrival, we will retain 50% of total payment made. When cancelled in the last 72 hours prior to check in at 3pm, the full 100% of your reservation will be charged. We advise you to buy travel insurance to protect yourself against unforeseen circumstances and to avoid any costs associated with cancellation. A shortened stay or not showing up will be regarded as a cancellation, and guests will be charged for their room. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is 10am. A late check-out fee may apply.

Reservations for lodging must be cancelled more than 14 days in advance or arrival. Schoodic Institute will make every effort to sell lodging after we receive notice of cancellation. If we cannot sell to another person you will not be refunded for your lodging reservation.
