Maine’s Climate Future, a series of reports published in 2009, 2015, and 2020, attempted to make information and awareness of a changing climate local, actionable, and practical. This talk will describe the origins of this series of reports, and the evolution of Maine activity on climate adaptation and mitigation through history up to the present leading people and thoughts on this issue. Ivan Fernandez is a Distinguished Maine Professor at the University of Maine and member of the Maine Climate Council. He will review what we see in Maine today, expect tomorrow, and how Maine state government is developing a reputation for leading on climate change.
