Moss and Lichen Walk and Talk for Beginners or Experts

Part of Schoodic Institute’s 2022 Acadia Winter Festival

Learn the basics of telling bryophytes and lichens apart, some common groups found at Schoodic and their ecological significance.  The walk will be led by Dr. Peter R. Nelson, Forest Ecologist at Schoodic Institute.  No experience required.  Meet at Schooner Commons.  Cost is $5.00 per participant.

Dr. Nelson has studied vegetation, with expertise in lichens, over the past 20 years publishing numerous papers on a wide range of relevant topics.  Prior to Schoodic Institute, he was an Associate Professor in the University of Maine System where he taught courses in a range of botanical topics.
