Schoodic by Sea
July 21 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm$30 – $100
Experience the Schoodic Peninsula by sea with Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company. This late afternoon voyage will pick up guests in Bar Harbor and Winter Harbor, and then cruise around Schoodic Point for unique views of Mount Desert Island and information about shoreline ecology, birds, and other wildlife. Traveling aboard the brand new 100-foot, smooth-riding catamaran M/V Acadia Explorer, see osprey nests near Winter Harbor, seal haul-out ledges, and the ubiquitous lobster buoys peppered throughout Frenchman Bay. Learn from Schoodic Institute ecologists about ongoing research to understand changes occurring in the marine waters that surround Acadia, and how the forested landscape may appear different in the future.
Tickets are $30 per person, and all proceeds benefit Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park, the park’s primary partner in science and education. Concessions will be available for purchase. Temperatures are cooler on the water – extra layers recommended!
