Schoodic Nature Photography Workshop with Dean Tyler

Join us May 16-18, 2026 for an immersive journey into the heart of the Schoodic Peninsula region of Acadia National Park, one of the premier natural treasures of Maine. This workshop offers a creative introduction to the principles of nature photography, specifically designed for those seeking to move beyond snapshots and into a more intentional, artistic practice.
The Experience
By combining structured classroom instruction with guided field work, you will learn to master your gear while exploring Schoodic’s rugged granite coastline and lush interior woods. Our itinerary is timed to take full advantage of the “Golden Hour,” with dedicated sessions at both sunrise and sunset to capture the landscape in its best light.
Stepping onto a lobster boat in Downeast Maine is the best way to get close to the “Atlantic Puffin capital” of the U.S. Petit Manan Island and the surrounding refuge offer some of the most dramatic seabird photography opportunities in North America.
