Alex Cisneros Carey supports Schoodic Institute’s research on climate adaptation in natural resource management. She leads the restoration research technicians in their field experiments from the highest of Acadia’s summits to the muddiest, buggiest salt marsh. Alex also manages project data and analysis.
Raised in California, this is Alex’s first job on the East Coast! Alex graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Environmental Science and a minor in Forestry. There she found a passion for field biology and natural history. She has previously worked as a field botanist, salmon snorkel surveyor, water quality lab manager, and Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps River Scientist.
In her free time, Alex enjoys finding new hiking trails, canoeing and kayaking Maine’s coast, bouldering, and reading.
