This was the 53rd year for this count, an extensive record made possible by the work of Bill Townsend. In brief, we amassed a species list of 58 and an individual count of nearly 3,000 birds.

The 58 species is more than the average of the last 30 years (54) as well as over the last 10 years (56). However, it is below average for the most recent six years, during which volunteers counted 60 species.
While  last year’s count found 67 species, the highest species count on record, the total number of individual birds counted (2,849) was lower than this year’s tally of 2,966.
