Adventures in Rockweed: Researching the Ecology of the Maine Coast

Rockweed.  For some it’s the low tide slippery stuff between a swimmer and the swim, for others it’s strands of green to be kept from a propeller.  It’s also a fascinating marine alga, an ecosystem unto itself, a provider of energy to the upland and to the ocean alike—and understanding how this curious system works is more than enough to keep a researcher busy forever.  Webber will share some research adventures in the rockweed ecosystem across the coast of Maine.
