Lodging at Schoodic Institute

Our bunkhouse is a college dormitory style renovated campus facility that can accommodate up to 71 guests.

This building is heated and air conditioned. Hosting 1000 students each summer, it is the perfect facility for accommodating large groups (ie: students, teachers, and chaperones) under one roof. The bunkhouse is a short walk to our dining hall, Schooner Commons, our classrooms, and Moore Auditorium.

The bunkhouse is divided as follows:

14 rooms that accommodate 4 guests

2 rooms that accommodate 6 guests

1 room that accommodates 3 guests

Washroom (shower included) facilities in the bunkhouse include 2 female, 2 male, and 1 handicap accessible.

Fresh Bed linens and towels are provided for each room and WiFi is accessible throughout the facility. Additional conveniences include a small kitchenette for light meals and storage of items such as medication and or lunches, and a spacious common space complete with board games as well as sports gear for the basketball court and lawn just outside the bunkhouse.

Several outdoor amenities surround the bunkhouse such as a lush and spacious courtyard which can be used as a social gathering spot or outdoor classroom, a full basketball court, and a large lawn. Balls, frisbees, etc. can be borrowed.

Designed by Grosvenor Atterbury (John D. Rockefeller’s Personal Architect) and built in the 1930s, the historic Rockefeller building houses six stunning executive apartments, each representing a different National Park.

All units offer comfortable furnishings and tastefully decorated rooms. Guests can enjoy a beautiful patio with an ocean view overlooking the meadow on the first floor. All apartments come with WiFi and DirecTV.

Grand Canyon

2 bedroom ocean view suite with a queen bed and one with 2 twins, one full bath, kitchen, dining room, living room.

Mesa Verde

2 bedroom ocean view suite with a queen bed and one room with 2 twins, one full bath, kitchen, dining room, living room.

Smoky Mountains

1 bedroom suite overlooking meadow. Queen bed with spacious bathroom, wet bar, dining room, and living room. This unit is also Handicapped Accessible

Yellowstone

1 bedroom ocean view suite. Located on the second floor, with 2 twin beds, one full bath, kitchen, dining room, living room.

Yosemite

2 bedroom suite with campus view. One bedroom with a queen bed and one with 2 twin beds. One full bath, kitchen, dining room, living room.

Also Located in Rockefeller Hall is the Welcome Center with interactive and interpretive displays as well as a bookstore.
