Schoodic Institute education programs encourage people to learn, discover, understand, and solve problems on their own by experimenting and evaluating possible solutions. School and community partnerships, residential and experiential learning opportunities, citizen science, and public events provide information of importance to Acadia National Park and the region, and increase public understanding and appreciation of science and nature.

Community Science Education

For the last decade, Schoodic Institute has organized collaborations between teachers, students, and scientists to involve students in real research related to local natural resource problems such as shellfish management and air pollution. Learn More About Community Science Education.

Schoodic Education Adventure

Acadia National Park educators lead this multi-day residential program for middle-school students (4th through 8th grade). Learn more about the Schoodic Education Adventure.

Acadia Teacher Fellowship

Teacher fellows spend several weeks as part of the park’s interpretation and education division and gain capacity to develop tailored, curriculum-based units about natural and cultural heritage and the importance of shared stewardship. Learn more about the Acadia Teacher Fellowship.

School Field Trips

Park Rangers also host single-day curriculum-based field trips on a variety of topics, from ecology to cultural history. Learn more about School Field Trips.

Acadia Ranger Programs

We welcome schools, colleges, universities, workshops, and other education programs to campus. Learn more about Acadia Ranger Programs.
